Welcome to the Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer Remote Access Technology Website. This site provides remote connectivity information for Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer lawyers and staff. Clients and others are invited to visit our public web site at www.bdplaw.com.
Use the Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer Remote Desktop Terminal Servers to access a wide range of BD&P programs and systems. The Microsoft Terminal Services Client comes pre-installed on Windows computers. Mac users can download a free client from Microsoft. Inexpensive Apps are available for tablets and smart phones. The server address is rds.bdplaw.net. E-mail the help desk for assistance getting set up with Duo 2-factor authentication for access to rds.bdplaw.net.
NOTE: To facilitate the use of Office 2016, we have created a NEW remote access server called rds.bdplaw.net (vts.bdplaw.net has been discontinued). For BDP laptop users, a new remote desktop shortcut called "BDP RDS FILESITE" has been copied to your desktop. For home computers, you will need to update your settings and change the remote server name to: rds.bdplaw.net, and contact the Help Desk to be set up with Duo 2-factor authentication.
Smart Phone Synchronization
A variety of smart phone models can be used to synchronize e-mail and calendars with BD&P's electronic mail servers. Contact the Help Desk for assistance.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Server
Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer maintains business continuity backup systems at a remote location. If there is an emergency or disaster, the backup systems will be activated. Technical instructions and links will be made available to lawyers and staff through this web page.
A Business Continuity Plan describes pre-planned responses to disaster scenarios ranging from loss of a single sub system to a building disaster. The Plan:
- Ensures that we have planned for a variety of common and uncommon incidents.
- Documents the steps necessary to respond to disaster.
- Aids in the development of backup plans and strategies.
